Of the 28.8 million U.S. adults with hearing loss who could benefit from hearing aids, fewer than 30% use them.1 This is often due to factors like cost, stigma, and limited access to care.

Over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids, such as those sold online by Jabra Enhance, make it easier for people to afford and access hearing aids. The brand offers several OTC options for mild to moderate hearing loss. Some of Jabra’s OTC hearing aids include lower-cost devices for everyday listening. Other Jabra hearing aids have more advanced options with personalized features and a discreet design. For those with severe or profound types of hearing loss, Jabra also offers a prescription model. Jabra’s prescription hearing aids must be professionally fitted by an audiologist or hearing aid specialist at Costco. Read on to learn more in our complete Jabra review.

Jabra Enhance offers a free online hearing test to check your level of hearing loss. Still, we recommend getting an in-person hearing exam at a hearing clinic to rule out any underlying issues hearing aids can't treat.

How to buy Jabra Enhance hearing aids

Jabra Enhance hearing aids are available to adults over 18 through the Jabra Enhance website. Jabra's website also features the brand's other offerings, like its Elite earbuds, Evolve headsets, and accessories. You can also buy them at Best Buy, Amazon, or use the Partner Locator on Jabra’s website to find an authorized retailer near you. Jabra Enhance Pro 20 is only available through Costco.

Before purchasing a hearing aid online, you’ll want to take a hearing test. Jabra offers a free, at-home hearing test developed by audiologists. All you need is a pair of headphones. The test starts with basic questions about your age, gender, and how you would describe your current hearing. Then, you’ll complete a tone test that plays sounds at different frequencies and asks you to select the lowest volume level you can hear. While the test does not diagnose hearing loss, it can suggest whether you may be a good candidate for hearing aids.

If you’re considering the Pro 30 model through Costco, you’ll need to call their hearing team to schedule an appointment. When you arrive, the audiologist or hearing instrument specialist will begin with a visual inspection of your eardrum. Then, you’ll take a hearing test in a sound booth, which takes about an hour. After the test, the specialist will go over your results and let you try the hearing aids, which are calibrated to the results of the hearing test. If you decide to move forward, you’ll place your order and return for a follow-up fitting. Testers say this process took around two weeks.

Jabra Enhance accessories

Jabra Enhance hearing aids come with an ear measurement tool plus a cleaning kit. The cleaning kit includes a cloth, brush, and extra domes. You will also receive wax guards to protect your hearing aids from earwax buildup.

Jabra offers the following optional hearing aid accessories to optimize your listening experience:

  • TV Streamer+ ($299): The TV Streamer+ plugs into your TV and sends sound straight to your hearing aids from up to 22 feet away. This can be a helpful option if you want to avoid turning the TV up too loud for others in the room.
  • MultiMic+ ($275): The MultiMic+ is a small, portable microphone that streams sound directly into your hearing aids. It has built-in telecoil, and you can clip it on your clothes or place it on a table to pick up multiple voices. It works from up to 82 feet away, making it easier to hear someone even from a distance.
  • Upkeep Kit ($39): The Upkeep Kit includes a year’s supply of replacement parts (like additional domes) and cleaning tools needed to maintain your hearing aids.
  • Charging Case ($250): An additional charging case that holds three full hearing aid charges that powers 24 hours of listening each can be a good option if you often misplace your charger.

All accessories come with a 100-day money-back guarantee and a one-year warranty.

Are Jabra Enhance hearing aids right for you?

Jabra Enhance hearing aids are designed for adults over the age of 18 with mild to moderate hearing loss. They offer a discreet design and are comfortable for everyday wear, making them some of the best hearing aids available. Considering the quality and features offered, Jabra Enhance hearing aids are some of the more affordable options on the market today.

When deciding whether to purchase Jabra Enhance hearing aids, consider the following questions:

  • What is your budget? OTC hearing aids can range from several hundred to several thousand dollars. If cost is important to you, Jabra Enhance hearing aids can be a good option. You can learn more about other budget-friendly hearing aids in our Audien review and our MDHearing review.
  • How severe is your hearing loss? Jabra Enhance OTC hearing aids are designed to treat mild to moderate hearing loss. If you have severe to profound hearing loss, we recommend visiting an audiologist to obtain prescription hearing aids. Jabra Enhance sells one of the best prescription Costco hearing aids that can support severe hearing loss.
  • Do you care more about style or features? Jabra’s hearing aids are small and more discreet than traditional BTE hearing aids, but they do have a case that sits behind your ear. ITC and CIC styles are smaller and fit deeply in your ear canal, but a smaller size often means fewer features, including Bluetooth streaming.
  • Do you prefer rechargeable or disposable batteries? Rechargeable batteries can save you money over time. Disposable batteries usually last longer per use and don’t need to be charged.
