WinkBed Mattress Review 2025
We like WinkBed as a supportive and comfortable mattress brand for people with chronic pain concerns.

- WinkBed mattresses provide excellent pain relief for all types of sleepers, including higher-weight sleepers or people with chronic pain.
- A queen-sized WinkBed costs $1,499–$1,699.
- Excellent edge support and accessibility make WinkBed a great choice for older adults.

Getting a good night’s sleep isn’t always easy, especially if you have arthritis or other painful conditions. The right mattress can make a big difference, helping to ease joint pressure so you wake up feeling more rested and less sore. That’s why WinkBed has been one of our top choices for pain relief. Across our mattress guides, WinkBed has stood out for many types of sleepers and those with pain-related needs. It’s earned titles like:
- Best overall mattress for arthritis
- Best for arthritis in our best mattresses roundup
- Best for back sleepers with hip pain
- Best for side sleepers with arthritis
- Best for back sleepers with back pain
Pain and sleep are closely connected. In our March 2025 survey of older adults who have chronic pain, 77% of people told us pain keeps them from sleeping well at night.1 If you’re in the same boat, a WinkBed might be a great fit.
In this WinkBed review, we’ll share what it’s like to sleep on a WinkBed, how it helps with different kinds of pain, and how to choose the right model based on your sleep style and needs.
WinkBeds

- Excellent pain relief
- Helps ease pressure
- Sleeps cool
- Stable edges
Why choose WinkBed?
WinkBed offers some of the best pressure and pain relief among all the mattresses we’ve tested. The Luxury Firm and the Plus models both earned a rating of 4/5 for pain relief, while the GravityLux earned a rating of 3.5/5. Both the Luxury Firm and the Plus models feature innersprings, while the GravityLux is the brand’s popular memory foam mattress. With strong performances in pain relief, cooling, and edge support, we think WinkBed offers a variety of accessible mattresses that work well for most sleepers.
We also like that the WinkBed Plus is designed with higher-weight people in mind (people weighing more than 250 pounds). Many mattresses aren’t designed for higher-weight sleepers, and they tend to lose their structure more quickly and can be uncomfortable to sleep on. The WinkBed Plus has sturdy edges and anti-sag technology to help the mattress keep its shape. Strong edge support can also help older adults who may need to use their hands when pushing themselves to stand.
Our testers were impressed by WinkBed’s cooling capabilities, giving the GravityLux a rating of 4/5, and the Luxury Firm and Plus each a rating of 3/5. For people who sleep hot or who live in warmer climates, a cooling mattress can improve overall sleep quality. Excessive heat can worsen sleep quality, according to research.2
WinkBed keeps its prices competitive by shipping mattresses directly to your door, but they don’t offer white-glove delivery services. You’ll be responsible for unboxing and moving the mattress, as well as getting rid of your old one. This can be a drawback if you want help setting up your new mattress.
The Luxury Firm: WinkBed’s most popular hybrid mattress
The WinkBed Luxury Firm offers a supportive and comfortable sleep experience, making it a great choice for many. Scoring 4/5 for pain relief, the Luxury Firm is especially good for those with arthritis or other chronic pain.
The WinkBed Luxury Firm

- Excellent pressure relief for reducing pain
- Cooling fibers limit heat buildup
- Supportive springs help align the spine
- Pain relief score: 4.17/5
- Material: Memory foam and innersprings
- Brand firmness rating: 6.5/10
- Ideal sleeping position(s): Side, back, stomach
Our experience with the WinkBed Luxury Firm
When we tested the WinkBed Luxury Firm, we liked its medium-firm feel. This firmness level is considered best for the average sleeper. It can help you sleep longer, more efficiently, and fall asleep faster.3 Our testers agreed. “I feel more cushioning at my hips, which sink in a bit further, but feel well-aligned overall. I don’t feel any pressure building at my shoulders and hips,” said one tester, Patti, a 74-year-old lighter-weight combination sleeper. Our testers found the Luxury Firm to be soft enough to contour, yet still provide support from the innersprings.
For people with pain, the support the WinkBed Luxury Firm offers makes a big difference in sleeping comfortably. Mattresses made entirely of memory foam can sometimes create pressure, but hybrids typically don’t. We like that the Luxury Firm’s hybrid structure combines the comfort of memory foam with the aligning support of innersprings.

We were also impressed by the Luxury Firm’s cooling abilities. “I like how fluffy and cool the top is,” one tester said. “Definitely one of the top ones I've tested based on how cool it feels when I immediately touch it. When I lie down, I can definitely feel the cushion/airflow keeping my back a little cooler.” Testers appreciated that the bed was noticeably cool, and our temperature test confirmed their observations, earning the bed a cooling score of 4/5.
But when our testers stood up, they noticed the Luxury Firm’s edges aren’t very supportive. “I feel some sinkage and not as much support. I think if I were heavier, I’d slide off the side easily if I was very close to the edge,” Patti said. If you need more support when standing, you might want to consider the WinkBed Plus, which earned high scores in edge support.

WinkBed Luxury Firm pros and cons
Pros

- Excellent pressure relief
- Comfortable choice for a wide range of sleepers
Cons
- Edges could be stronger
- Motion isolation is only average
Who is the WinkBed Luxury Firm right for?
The WinkBed Luxury Firm is right for you if you have chronic pain and want a mattress to help minimize pain during the night. It’s also great for sleepers who run hot.

Who should keep looking for their perfect mattress?
- People who sleep with a partner or pets, because they might be woken up by the other’s movement
- People who need extra edge support
The Plus: WinkBed’s sturdiest and most durable mattress
The WinkBed Plus

- Sturdy construction for higher-weight sleepers
- Excellent edge support
- Hybrid construction provides pressure relief
- Pain relief score: 4.6/5
- Material: Memory foam and innersprings
- Brand firmness rating: 8.5/10
- Ideal sleeping position(s): Side, back, stomach
Our experience with the WinkBed Plus
We found the WinkBed Plus to feel very similar to the Luxury Firm. When our testers first lay down, they were impressed by the mattress’s high-quality feel. “The mattress feels cool to the touch and has a soft tufted feel,” said one tester, Sheila, a 70-year-old average-weight combination sleeper. “The top feels like memory foam but is not too soft or firm, it feels in between.”
The Plus has supportive innersprings that help make it easier to shift positions. “It stayed consistent moving from position to position,” Sheila said. “I was able to easily roll from one position to another. I did not struggle at all to change positions, and I did not have to use my arms to assist me. The bed is very supportive.” This is a nice feature for people who switch sleeping positions during the night.

When our testers stood up, they felt strongly supported by the Plus’s extra-sturdy edges. “I don't feel like I would slide off when I sit on the edge,” Sheila said. “The bed gently pushes you up and out of the bed. When I get out of the bed, I can easily stand without using my hands. The edges bounce back instantly from standing.”
The Plus was designed for people weighing more than 250 pounds, and its sturdiness and durability also make it a great choice for older adults seeking added stability when getting out of bed. But for people who weigh less, especially those under 135 pounds, this mattress may feel firmer and have less give.

WinkBed Plus pros and cons
Pros
- Excellent edge support
- May help relieve pressure and ease pain
- Designed for higher-weight people
Cons
- Might feel too firm for lighter-weight people
- Average motion isolation
Who is the WinkBed Plus right for?
The WinkBed Plus is best suited for those weighing more than 250 pounds. It’s also great for people who want more edge support and stability while they shift positions during the night or when standing up out of bed. But because it has below-average motion isolation (meaning sleeping partners are more likely to be woken up by movement), it’s not best for people who are woken easily.

Have chronic pain | Yes |
Feel hot at night | Yes |
Have mobility concerns | Yes |
Sleep in the following positions | Side, back, stomach |
Who should keep looking for their perfect mattress?
- People who sleep with a partner or pet, and who may get woken up by their movements
- Lighter-weight people who might find the sturdiness too firm
The GravityLux: WinkBed’s memory foam mattress
The WinkBed GravityLux is a memory foam mattress that offers the same support and cooling technology as the Luxury Firm and Plus models but with better motion isolation.
The WinkBed GravityLux

- Memory foam provides excellent motion isolation
- Cooler than most memory foam mattresses
- Great for sleepers who like the feel of memory foam
- Pain relief score: 3.5/5
- Material: Memory foam
- Brand firmness rating: 5/10
- Ideal sleeping position(s): Side, back, stomach
Our experience with the WinkBed GravityLux
Similar to the other WinkBed models, we were impressed by the GravityLux’s pressure-relieving abilities, cool sleep experience, and strong edge support. But what surprised us was that the GravityLux is memory foam, which tends not to score as high as hybrid mattresses in these three categories.
Memory foam’s lack of innersprings can reduce airflow and trap heat. And while foam often gives a more cushioned feel, it can also cause pressure to build up in areas as bodies sink in. The WinkBed GravityLux’s pain relief score wasn’t as high as the Luxury Firm or the Plus, but we still thought this mattress was comparable to its hybrid counterparts in several areas. When our testers lay down, they loved the feel of the GravityLux mattress. “The mattress feels very smooth and luxurious,” one tester said. “The topper feels really nice. I like the tufting on the top, and it looks like a high-quality material.”
We thought the memory foam was comfortable without too much of the sinking feeling that can make this type of mattress feel unstable. “Lying down, I feel very supported,” one tester said. “The edge does a good job of not collapsing when lying down and dispersing my weight. I don't feel like I am going to roll off.”
While memory foam tends to trap heat, our testers found the GravityLux does a great job of avoiding this issue.4 “The mattress felt great lying here. I think this one felt the coolest as I laid here and did a good job of not warming up. Slightly warm feel but not hot at all,” said one of our testers.
The GravityLux earned a 5/5 for its motion isolation, the highest score in this category among the WinkBeds we tested. “This mattress had some of the best motion isolation,” one tester said. “I think because this is your typical foam mattress, the motion isolation did really well. The dense layers of memory foam act as a great buffer to stop motion.” The GravityLux’s stellar motion isolation abilities make it a great choice for people who share their bed with a partner or pet, reducing the chance you’ll be woken up by someone else’s movements.
WinkBed GravityLux pros and cons
Pros
- Excellent motion isolation
- Strong edge support
- Stays cool
Cons
- Lower pain relief score than the hybrid models
- Some people might not like the cradling feel of memory foam
Who is the WinkBed GravityLux right for?
The WinkBed GravityLux is right for you if you sleep with a partner or a pet and don’t want to feel their movements while in bed. It’s also great for those who prefer the feel of memory foam but sleep hot.

Is a WinkBeds mattress right for you?
WinkBed’s mattresses might be right for you if you have arthritis or other pain issues. The Luxury Firm and Plus did a great job at reducing pressure and easing pain. If you have chronic pain, those two WinkBed models could be a good option.
WinkBed mattresses also suit older adults who require extra support when getting out of bed or who frequently change positions during sleep. We were impressed with the brand’s above-average scores on important features, like edge support, pressure relief, and cooling.
But not everyone wants to spend $1,500 or more on a mattress. If you’re looking for another good choice at a lower price, consider brands like DreamCloud, which offers similar quality for around $1,000. You can read more in our DreamCloud review.
WinkBed’s direct-to-your-door shipping means you’ll be responsible for unboxing and moving the mattress. If you're looking for a bed with white-glove delivery options, consider Saatva or Helix mattresses. Both brands offer white-glove delivery, which includes setting up your new mattress and removing the old one. This service is free with a Saatva mattress and costs an additional fee with Helix. For more information, see our Saatva mattress review and Helix mattress review.
