Key Takeaways

  • Learn about the Red Hat Society, a sisterhood of likeminded women who make friends and enrich lives through the power of fun and friendship.

  • Membership is open to women of all ages.

The Red Hat Society is a membership-based organization that connects women online and offline and provides them with the tools, opportunities, and discounts they need to experience new and exciting ways to gather.

Our signature red and pink hats symbolize a movement of women determined to celebrate every stage of life.

Members wearing red hats and purple clothing have reached their magical 50th birthday and choose to greet every day with vigor, curiosity and joy. Our Pink Hat Sisters are lovingly referred to as "ladies in waiting." They enjoy the same bonds of friendship as their Red Hat Sisters, but wear lighter shades of red and purple until they can REDuate into the vibrant reds and purples the Red Hat Society is known for.

Why the Red Hat Society?

Women spend most of their lives in the role of nurturer and caregiver. They give their all to their families, careers and communities, often placing their own desires on hold in the process.

Membership in the Red Hat Society provides a much needed “recess” from the cares and duties of everyday life to gather with their Sisters for no other purpose than to play.

The Red Hat Society is also cost-effective. Members pay just $30 for a year-long membership, and Chapter Queens pay $49 per year ($30 Membership + $19 Chapter Charter).

What does the Red Hat Society do?

With chapters online and offline across the globe, membership in the Red Hat Society offers powerful interpersonal connections and emotional support systems for women from all walks of life.

Our members enjoy lunches and dinner outings, movies, plays, museums, arts and crafts, bowling, Bunco, bingo, picnics, travel, conventions and much much more. Members from across the country and across the globe gathered virtually in 2022 to celebrate our 24th birthday. You can catch some signature outfits and supreme dance moves in this 20th anniversary celebration from just four years earlier.

The RHS website is the best tool available to RHS members, with an Event Calendar for posting and viewing local chapter events, an online discussion forum where Sisters are up 24/7 ready to chat and a chapter connection tool that allows them to communicate with Queens of local Chapters anywhere in the world.
