- The Rexton prescription hearing aids reviewed here cost $1,500–$2,200 per pair at Costco. This may seem expensive compared to some over-the-counter (OTC) options.
- Prices aren’t listed on the Rexton website. For more specific pricing, contact a hearing specialist who carries Rexton hearing aids.
- Rexton hearing aids feature rechargeable batteries, Bluetooth streaming, and background noise reduction. Some models also offer app-based adjustments.

Even many of the best hearing aids aren’t designed for rough conditions. But if you wear hearing aids, they are bound to get wet, dirty, or dropped at some point. And this may happen a lot if you lead an especially active life. Rexton designs its hearing aids for durability as much as sound quality. Its hearing aids are built to handle noisy places, bad weather, and active lifestyles.
Rexton is a long-established brand founded in 1955. It has a strong reputation for making reliable prescription hearing aids to handle everyday life. Today, the company is part of WS Audiology, one of the world’s largest hearing care groups. Rexton stands out with its “Lifeproof” approach. It designs its devices to perform under harsh conditions.
In this Rexton hearing aids review, we will take a closer look at three popular models: the Rexton Reach R Plus, Rexton Reach B-Li Rugged, and Rexton Reach Inox-CIC Li. We'll examine their features, strengths, and drawbacks. We aim to help you decide whether a Rexton hearing aid is the right fit for your hearing needs.

If you are considering purchasing any kind of hearing aids, schedule an appointment with an audiologist or hearing care professional to get your hearing tested first. Doing so can tell you whether you need OTC or prescription hearing aids and give you an idea of what other factors to consider before you buy.
Why Rexton is a top brand for prescription hearing aids
Rexton has made prescription hearing aids since 1955. The brand focuses on practical technology to help people hear better in everyday situations. Many Rexton devices include features to improve speech understanding in noisy environments. They also reduce background noise and automatically adjust to changing listening conditions.
Models in the Rexton Reach hearing aid family use advanced processing technology. This feature helps users hear speech more clearly in challenging environments. Rexton offers a range of styles, from nearly invisible, in-the-ear devices to behind-the-ear models. So you can choose a Rexton hearing aid that fits your hearing needs and lifestyle. Many models are built with durability in mind.
Rexton devices offer rechargeability and wireless connectivity, making day-to-day use more convenient. These strengths help explain why Rexton hearing aids are a popular choice among prescription hearing aid wearers. Understanding Rexton Reach hearing aid models
Like many prescription brands, Rexton groups its hearing aids by technology platforms. Each platform offers different device styles but similar operating systems. The Reach platform is now its main offering. Rexton Reach hearing aids come in several styles, including BTE, RIC, and CIC models. In this Rexton hearing aid review, we discuss three styles in that line.
Rexton Reach R Plus: Long Battery Life
The standout feature of the Rexton Reach R Plus is its long battery life. It has the longest battery life of the line, even when streaming music or making calls. It also has broad Bluetooth compatibility and advanced speech handling in noisy environments.
Rexton Reach R Plus

- 54-hour battery life, or 36 hours with five hours of streaming
- Bluetooth streaming for music and calls
- Multi-Voice Focus may help users hear conversations more clearly
- Type of hearing aid: RIC
- Battery type: Rechargeable
- Bluetooth compatible: Yes
Pros
- Long battery life
- Bluetooth streaming for music and calls
- Compatible with telecoil public broadcast systems
Cons
- Premium features may increase overall cost
- Design is not as discreet as other models
- Does not support newer tech like Auracast public broadcast or Bluetooth LE
What's different about the Rexton Reach R Plus
The Reach R Plus is one of the newest Rexton Reach hearing aids. It is an RIC-style hearing aid with an incredibly long battery life and broad Bluetooth compatibility. This allows it to connect with almost any smartphone, computer, or tablet. The R Plus has been compared to the Signia Pure Charge & Go BCT IX. You can read more about that device in our Signia review.
The R Plus uses Bluetooth Classic technology to let users stream music and calls directly to their Rexton hearing aids. Unlike many hearing aids that only work with select devices, the Reach R Plus connects to most smartphones. It also works with computers, laptops, and other Bluetooth devices. And because of its long battery life (up to 54 hours on a single charge), you can stream for five hours and still have 36 hours left. That means less time worrying about charging and more time focusing on everyday activities.
We did not test the Rexton Reach R Plus, but it includes technology designed to make speech in noise easier to hear. That includes Multi-Voice Focus, Voice Stabilizer, and My Voice 2.0. Together, these features may help isolate the speaker during conversations when several people are talking. The Rexton Reach R Plus is also sold at Costco, like many of the best OTC hearing aids.
Rexton Reach B-Li Rugged: Clear Conversations, Sturdy Design
The Rexton Reach B-Li Rugged is a BTE-style hearing aid for people who want a device that offers clear sound and is built to last. It combines durable construction with focused sound processing. The sound processing features help users follow conversations in noisy settings.
Rexton Reach B-Li Rugged

- Compact and extremely durable design
- Compatible with telecoil public broadcast systems
- Has Bluetooth streaming for music and calls
- Type of hearing aid: BTE
- Battery type: Rechargeable
- Bluetooth compatible: Yes
Pros
- Durable design and excellent moisture, dust, and impact resistance
- Long battery life (36 hours) with rechargeable convenience
- Can be controlled manually and with app
Cons
- BTE design may not offer sound as clear or a fit as comfortable as RIC styles
- Not compatible with newer Auracast public broadcast systems
- Prescription fitting typically requires professional support and appointments
What's different about the Rexton Reach B-Li Rugged
As its name implies, Rexton designed the Reach B-Li Rugged to withstand a lot. This BTE-style hearing aid is the most durable one the brand makes. It has one of the top ratings (IP68) for moisture and dust resistance and is impact-resistant, too. We did not personally test this hearing aid, but Rexton states the device can withstand a 2-meter drop without issue. It’s even ATEX certified to be safe to use around explosives.
These features make the Reach B-Li Rugged well-suited for people who work outdoors, exercise regularly, or just want a hearing aid that can withstand hard use. The long battery life (up to 36 hours per charge) is also a good fit for people who are on the go. Like other devices in the Reach line, the Rugged focuses on clear, natural-sounding conversations. Technology like Multi Voice Focus may help make it easier to follow speech. This is true even when more than one person is talking.
The B-Li Rugged’s design is fairly compact for a BTE model, but it's still large enough to accommodate manual controls. That means you can change the volume and program without needing an app. The rocker switch’s size and simplicity may make it easier for people with dexterity, vision, or arthritis issues.
Rexton Reach Inox-CIC Li: Discreet Design, Easy Charging
The Rexton Reach Inox-CIC Li is a small, lightweight option made for people who want a nearly invisible fit. The device's deep-in-the-ear placement makes it one of Rexton's most discreet options. It includes a rechargeable design and a portable charging case.
Rexton Reach Inox-CIC Li

- Nearly invisible design fits completely in the ear canal
- Supports USB and wireless charging
- Designed for clearer speech, even in background noise
- Type of hearing aid: CIC
- Battery type: Rechargeable
- Bluetooth compatible: No
Pros
- Deep-fitting design is difficult for others to notice
- Charging case doubles as a portable power bank
- Up to 28 hours of battery life per charge
Cons
- Smaller size means a shorter battery life than larger hearing aid styles
- No Bluetooth streaming for music or calls
- Only comes in two colors
What's different about the Rexton Reach Inox-CIC Li
The Inox-CIC Li is the only CIC-style hearing aid in the Rexton Reach line. Unlike the Reach R Plus and Rugged, this small hearing aid fits completely inside the ear canal. That can be appealing for people who care most about appearance, comfort, and avoiding visible hardware. It was also among our picks for the best Costco hearing aids.
The Inox sacrifices some features for its compact size. It doesn't include Bluetooth streaming for calls and music. But the device can still connect wirelessly to the Rexton app for smartphone control. It also has a shorter battery life than the other styles in the Reach line (28 hours, still pretty good). It is compatible with USB and wireless charging devices, which can be convenient.
We did not test the Inox. But many Rexton hearing aids reviews note that the Voice Stabilizer technology keeps conversations clear, even in noisy locations. For those focused on comfort, discreet wear, and rechargeable convenience, the Reach Inox-CIC Li may be worth considering.
Rexton Reach hearing aids costs
Like most prescription hearing aid manufacturers, Rexton does not publish prices on its website. The hearing aids in this review range in cost from about $1,500–$2,200 per pair. The price of prescription hearing aids can vary depending on several factors. These include the style and technology platform. Features like Bluetooth and disposable or rechargeable batteries also affect cost. For pricing information on a specific model, you must speak with a local hearing care professional who sells Rexton hearing aids.
Most insurance plans, including Medicare Part A and Part B, do not cover the full cost of hearing aids. Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans may cover some of your hearing aid costs.1 If you have a health savings account (HSA) or flexible spending account (FSA), you may also be able to use those funds to purchase hearing aids. Both have limitations: FSA funds can’t be used once you’re retired, and you can’t contribute to an HSA once you’re enrolled in Medicare. Check with your Medicare plan or health insurance provider to see what’s covered.
| Model | Estimated price per pair |
| Rexton Reach R Plus | $1,500–$1,700 |
| Rexton Reach B-Li Rugged | $1,600–$1,700 |
| Rexton Reach Inox-CIC Li | $1,700–$2,200 |
