There’s a lot to be said for a mattress brand that is soft to the touch and softer on your wallet. This Silk & Snow mattress review will walk through how Silk & Snow products promote sleep health at a lower price than many competitors. The Canadian company has been in business for less than a decade. But it has been steadily building a reputation for quality, support, comfort, and value.

This Silk & Snow review will explore Silk & Snow’s three mattresses: the S&S Original, the Silk & Snow Hybrid, and the Silk & Snow Organic. Our testing team also tried out the Silk & Snow Adjustable Pillow, and you can find out what we thought in this review.

Why choose Silk & Snow?

As a brand, Silk & Snow takes two things seriously: affordability and support. Our testers found Silk & Snow products to be “very well made, with great intention behind the design," as one of our testers put it.

We tested the Silk & Snow Hybrid and named it the best for back sleepers in our roundup of Best King Mattresses. We were impressed by its contouring properties and overall value. It ranked again in our list of Best Medium-Firm Mattresses for its balanced feel and consistent support.

When we tested the Silk & Snow Adjustable Pillow, it earned the top spot in our Best Pillows of 2026 for spinal support, value, and a long trial period. Both the brand's pillow and the mattress also scored well for cooling. In fact, the Silk & Snow Adjustable Pillow is one of the coolest pillows we tested. The Silk & Snow Hybrid earned a 4/5 for cooling after heating up by just 6.5 degrees after use. When we surveyed older adults about what they value in their sleep products, “cooling” ranked fourth among the most important factors.1

After all our testing, we rated the Silk & Snow brand 9.5/10, with a perfect 10 for customer service. Silk & Snow offers a 365-night trial on mattresses. That’s fairly standard in the industry. But the brand’s 100-night pillow trial is one of the most generous available.

Understanding our scoring

Our mattress recommendations are based on our thorough research and testing. We created two scores to reflect the needs of our audience:

  • Accessibility score: A combined score reflecting factors that make it easier for older adults to move around and get in and out of bed.
  • Pain relief score: A combined score reflecting factors that help relieve pain while in bed.

Silk & Snow Hybrid: Budget-Friendly, Cooling Mattress

Given its cooling score of 4/5 and top marks for support in every sleep position, you might expect the Silk & Snow Hybrid to carry a hefty price tag. But this hybrid is one of the most affordable mattresses we tested, complete with free shipping and a generous 365-night trial period.

Our experience with the Silk & Snow Hybrid

Studies show that healthy sleep is any sleep that allows your muscles and the discs in your spine to recover.2 A mattress with cushioning, support, and contouring may help keep your back and joints more comfortable. Our test team found the Silk & Snow Hybrid performs well in those areas. The Hybrid got top marks for having just the right amount of sinkage during testing. “The softness is going up the curve of my spine, but I don’t feel like I’m sunk down inside the mattress,” reported one tester. “It’s a good balance of support and comfort.”

The Silk & Snow hybrid’s quilted layer is soft to the touch, with a comfortable amount of sinkage.

Coil layers, such as those in the Silk & Snow Hybrid, can help align your spine. The bed's memory foam layers (in this case, a layer of cooling foam) help to cushion your joints for more pressure relief. The Silk & Snow Hybrid performed well in pressure relief across all sleep positions. “My shoulders feel pretty good, and so does my spine overall,” one tester said during a side-sleeping evaluation. Our stomach-sleeping tester also felt “equally supported” by the Hybrid.

One of our testers felt even support in the stomach-sleeping position on the Silk & Snow Hybrid.

The Silk & Snow Hybrid’s layer of pocketed coils also contributes to zoned support. “Zoned support means the mattress is firmer where you need stability, like the lower back and hips, and softer where you need pressure relief, like the shoulders,” said Joseph Dzierzewski, PhD, senior vice president of research and scientific affairs at National Sleep Foundation in Washington, D.C. “This design helps maintain alignment while reducing potential pain points that can increase tossing and turning.”

Who is the Silk & Snow Hybrid right for?

The Silk & Snow Hybrid may be a good fit for older adults who want a mattress that makes it easier to move around in bed and get in and out of bed. It earned an impressive pain relief score of 4.09/5 and an accessibility score of 3.89/5. The Hybrid also tested well in seated edge support, earning 4/5 for its stability when you sit on the side of the bed. Good seated edge support can help if you have mobility concerns and don't want the mattress to feel like it's fighting you when you try to stand.

The Silk & Snow Hybrid is a responsive mattress. That means it bounces back quickly, which may help combination sleepers change positions. But high responsiveness doesn’t mean the Hybrid bounces all night long. Our testers found it effective at dampening the movements your partner makes when getting into and out of bed. “[There] wasn’t much bouncing,” said one tester. “If I was asleep, I wouldn’t be disturbed.” Our testers awarded the Hybrid 4/5 for motion isolation.

Due to its breathable coil layer and gel-infused foam, the Silk & Snow may also be great for hot sleepers. The mattress scored another 4/5 for cooling. When we tested it with a thermal gun before and after use, the mattress's temperature rose only 6.5 degrees. “I can hardly tell the difference between where I was lying and the rest of the mattress,” reported one tester. “It all feels the same: nice and cool.” Silk & Snow’s pillow rose 11 degrees during testing, earning it a spot on our list of best cooling pillows.

I may love it if I:
Sleep with a partnerYes
Have chronic painYes
Feel hot at nightYes
Have mobility concernsYes
Sleep in the following positionsSide, back, stomach

Who should keep looking for their perfect mattress?

  • Light sleepers: The Silk & Snow Hybrid scored 4/5 for its ability to prevent motion transfer. But a light sleeper in a couple might still find the mattress bouncy enough to wake if their partner moves.
  • Some side sleepers: The Silk & Snow Hybrid is suitable for all sleeping positions. But one of our combination sleep testers did remark that it doesn’t cushion the hips as much when you’re on your side. If you’re looking for a Silk & Snow mattress with a little more sinkage, the Silk & Snow Original memory foam mattress may do the trick.

I can hardly tell the difference between where I was lying and the rest of the mattress. It all feels the same: nice and cool.”

Coming soon: The next Silk & Snow products in our testing queue

Here at NCOA, we’re always testing the latest mattresses and sleep products to see how they perform for all types of sleepers. The following Silk & Snow mattress reviews are coming soon from our testers.

Silk & Snow Mattress

Simply called “The S&S Mattress,” the Silk & Snow memory foam mattress is a little pricier than the Silk & Snow Hybrid. It’s made entirely of foam with no added innerspring layer. Like all of Silk & Snow's mattresses, it comes in three firmness options: firm, medium firm, and plush.

S&S Organic

True to its name, the S&S Organic contains multiple layers of organic materials. The mattress has an organic cotton cover over a latex layer and a wool quilt layer. Both of these layers are Global Organic Textile Standard certified. The Organic is the most expensive mattress in the Silk & Snow lineup. It's available in three firmness options, like the other two Silk & Snow mattresses.

How much do Silk & Snow mattresses cost?

There’s a reason we chose Silk & Snow for our roundup of the Best Mattresses Under $1,000.  A queen-size Silk & Snow mattress costs $975–$1,100 before discounts. The price depends on which firmness level you choose. Upgrading the Silk & Snow Hybrid from firm to medium-firm adds $110, while upgrading to plush adds $320. Tweaking the firmness of the S&S Organic model can cost even more.

The Silk & Snow customer experience

Silk & Snow is based in Canada. The brand does not offer white-glove delivery to those in the U.S. But you can ship any Silk & Snow mattress to your home for free. Silk & Snow will handle your return for no additional cost. Our testers gave Silk & Snow a 10/10 for its customer service.

Silk & Snow mattresses come with a 15-year limited warranty that features some caveats. The warranty activates the day your mattress is delivered. But if you don’t set that mattress up for success, the warranty is void.

The Silk & Snow warranty fine print states that if you don’t have your mattress on a proper foundation or bed frame, the brand won’t replace it. So you can’t file a claim if you keep your Silk & Snow mattress on the floor. Proper foundations are even more important if you live in a tropical area or have unfinished flooring. Mold growth on the mattress from placing it on a concrete floor or in a humid room is not the manufacturer’s error. Your Silk & Snow warranty will not cover that damage.

Silk & Snow offers a 5% discount to active duty military members, veterans, and retirees.

How to use a Silk & Snow mattress

Silk & Snow doesn't offer white-glove delivery. The mattress will arrive compressed and vacuum-sealed in a box. If possible, do not open that box alone. Your mattress box could weigh 50–115 pounds. And if the mattress decompresses faster than expected, you could injure yourself.

Instead, you and a partner should open your Silk & Snow box on top of an assembled bed frame. That way, the mattress pops out of the box and settles exactly where you want it. The Silk & Snow Hybrid doesn’t have handles, so it may be more difficult to move than some mattress models.

You can sleep on your mattress right away, but Silk & Snow says it will take 72 hours to fully take shape.

Who is a Silk & Snow mattress right for?

Silk & Snow has some of the best cooling scores we tested and is among the lowest-priced options. This suggests it may be a great fit for those seeking comfort on a budget. It may also be a good option for people who sleep hot. Combination sleepers and back sleepers in particular may find good comfort on a Silk & Snow mattress. But if you’re a light sleeper, you may notice some bounce when your partner gets into bed.

How to choose a Silk & Snow mattress for you

When debating if a Silk & Snow mattress is the right mattress for you, consider:

  • Am I okay with not getting to try the mattress in a showroom?
  • Do I have the right bed frame or foundation for a Silk & Snow mattress?
  • What’s my budget?
  • How firm do I want my Silk & Snow mattress to be, and am I willing to pay extra for a firmer bed?
  • Do I have mobility concerns that may be helped by strong edge support, like that of the Silk & Snow Hybrid?

Frequently asked questions

How long do Silk & Snow mattresses last?

Most mattresses, including Silk & Snow, should be replaced within 7–10 years. Look for signs of sagging, weakened edge support, or new aches and pains after spending the night on an older mattress.

What is Silk & Snow’s return policy?

Silk & Snow gives you 365 nights to try its mattresses. The brand won’t let you initiate a return before 30 nights have passed. This gives you time to try the mattress before deciding whether it works for you. Silk & Snow will pick up the mattress from your home for free and, when possible, donate it to a local charity.

Do you need a box spring for a Silk & Snow mattress?

No. Most contemporary mattresses are designed to function without a box spring. Silk & Snow doesn’t sell box springs on its website, though it does sell bed frames.

Is Silk & Snow a good mattress for the price?

Yes. Our testing shows Silk & Snow makes high-quality mattresses. The brand’s mattresses are also among the more affordable models on the market.
