Our older adult testers said this mattress felt like a true medium-firm mattress and was supportive without being stiff. “It takes a little bit more effort to push down through the mattress,” said one tester. “The foam is pretty responsive but takes an extra second to fully rise.” This may be due to the combination of springs and contouring foam working together to create a medium-firm feel.
Our testers felt most supported when lying on their back or side during testing. “I feel good overall," one tester said of back sleeping on the mattress. "I am pretty supported, and my spine feels aligned. My body is sinking into the mattress in just the right amount, and it feels really nice. They said the Premier had the look and feel of a higher-end mattress. “The pillow top is quilted and tufted, but the material feels amazing,” said Patti, 70, one of our testers. “I tried both the Classic Hybrid and now the Premier, and this one feels like nicer quality materials overall.”
The Premier also performed better than the Classic Hybrid in several categories, including edge support, where it earned a 4/5. “I feel pretty stable on the edge of this mattress,” said Patti. “When sitting down, I don’t feel like I am going to slide off or fall.” She also noted that the DreamCloud Premier is so responsive that she did not need to use her hands to help her stand up from a seated position on the side of the bed. As a result, Patti gave the mattress a 5/5 for bounce.
The medium-firm mattress felt soft on top but solid underneath. “When I push my hand into the surface, the memory foam bounces right back,” Patti said. “It is soft but feels like the quality would hold up over time, and that you wouldn’t experience areas that would dip or sag due to overuse.”

Testers commented that the Helix Midnight felt supportive yet plush. “I feel like I am sinking pretty heavily, but in a good way," Sheila said. Testers did note that this mattress’s motion isolation, or ability to limit the effects of a partner's movement, was only average. This suggests it might not work well for couples. “I could feel both the changing of the positions and the partner getting in and out of bed,” said one tester. “The motion wasn't awful, but I definitely felt it all the way through the mattress to the other side of my body.”
But testers rated the Helix Midnight a solid 4/5 for cooling, and said its design allowed for good airflow. They also felt its Glaciotex cooling cover was effective. “It feels cool to the touch even after I was lying on it for a minute,” said one tester.
