Grant Opportunity: Helping Older Adults Build Technology Skills and Confidence

The National Council on Aging and AT&T are offering a new funding opportunity for senior centers and community-based organizations serving older adults. The initiative will help organizations expand digital literacy programs so older adults can build the skills and confidence to use technology, stay connected, find information online, use mobile devices, and stay safe from online scams.

With funding from AT&T, NCOA work contract senior centers to provide in-person workshops with older adults to support digital literacy. Learn more and find out how to apply for grant funding.

About the Digital Literacy Initiative

The National Council on Aging, with support from AT&T, invites senior centers, nonprofit community-based organizations, and local governmental agencies that serve older adults to apply for funding to introduce or expand digital literacy programs in their communities.

Senior centers and other community organizations are essential community assets that create opportunities for older adults to stay active, connected, and engaged. As part of AT&T’s initiative to bridge the digital divide, NCOA and AT&T will support 75 organizations nationwide in expanding technology education and support that helps older adults build the skills and confidence to navigate today's digital world.

Participating organizations will deliver hands-on workshops and individualized support on topics such as internet use, email, mobile devices, computer skills, videoconferencing, online safety, and other essential digital tools. In addition to funding, selected organizations will receive curriculum materials, facilitator training, implementation of resources, and ongoing technical assistance to support successful program delivery.
