Ramsey Alwin

Building on the National Council on Aging’s (NCOA) more than 75 years of service and advocacy, Alwin is advancing a bold vision to create the conditions for all people to age well. Over the past two decades, she has driven meaningful change across public policy and private sector practice to improve health and financial security as we age.
As President and CEO, Alwin has led NCOA to improve the lives of 40 million older adults—helping individuals reduce expenses, increase income, access essential benefits, and participate in evidence-based programs, while advancing policy solutions that expand opportunity nationwide.
A recognized thought leader and economic policy strategist, Alwin has helped reshape the national conversation around older adult poverty and economic security. She brings a holistic approach to scaling solutions that meet today’s needs while anticipating future megatrends. She has testified before Congress on the Older Americans Act and policies to support older workers, and has engaged global stakeholders, including at the United Nations.
Alwin has built cross-sector collaborations with federal, state, and local leaders, national organizations, and corporate partners to advance lasting change. Her work is grounded in a clear belief: aging well should be a right, not a privilege.
Her insights have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and CNN. She has been named a PBS Next Avenue Influencer in Aging and recognized among The NonProfit Times’ Power & Influence Top 50.
