Assistant Inspector in Charge, U.S. Postal Inspection Service

Andrea Avery began her Postal Service career in 2005 as a Postal Inspector in Anchorage, AK. Unofficially, her postal experiences started much earlier, visiting her mom, a postmaster, at her post office every day growing up. After six years exploring the wilderness of Alaska investigating mail theft, narcotics, and dangerous mail, Avery transferred to Las Vegas, NV and continued investigating mail-related crimes. Prior to her current post, she served as the National Public Information Officer, where she handled media relations, internal and external communications, and supporting Postal Inspectors in the field with communication-related products and guidance.
