Oct. 2, 2025, Arlington, VA—The National Council on Aging (NCOA), the national voice for every person’s right to age well, welcomes Saira Jesani as a new member of the Board of Directors starting October 1, 2025. As Executive Director of the Data & Trusted AI Alliance, Jesani brings a unique background in artificial intelligence (AI) adoption and governance to the position.Â
“Saira’s unique role as a trailblazer in AI will be invaluable as NCOA works to create the conditions for every American to age well today and into the future,” said Ramsey Alwin, NCOA President and CEO. “We are excited to learn from her experience guiding strong teams and businesses.”Â
Jesani is dedicated to accelerating AI adoption in ways that prioritize business value and create trust. She has led the development of industry standards and frameworks that are now used across sectors. These include the Algorithmic Bias Safeguards, which assess vendors on their ability to mitigate bias in human resources AI tools, and the Responsible Data and AI Diligence framework, which evaluates potential investments and acquisitions based on the value of their data, AI, and people. Before heading the Data & Trusted AI Alliance, Saira was a partner at SYPartners, where she worked with Fortune 100 C-Suite and government leaders to build strong vision and strategy.Â
“I’m honored to support NCOA’s vital work to make aging well possible for everyone,” said Jesani.
A person’s ability to age with health and economic well-being is impacted by many factors, and it takes effort and engagement from all sectors to build solutions that will last.”Â
Previously, Jesani worked in science journalism and business strategy. She has taught at Yale School of Management and Parsons School of Design and advises executives on the practical and ethical challenges of AI.Â
