Aug. 4, 2025, Arlington, VA—For the second consecutive year, Ramsey Alwin, President and CEO of the National Council on Aging (NCOA), has been named by The NonProfit Times as one of the 2025 Power and Influence Top 50. The publication recognized that Alwin has led NCOA as “a force that can’t be ignored by elected officials and agencies that provide services,” saying, “she is making it clear cost-effective government programs must continue without interruption.”
“I am honored to be recognized among so many talented and passionate nonprofit leaders, and I look forward to continuing to elevate the pressing needs of older adults to our leaders and lawmakers,” said Alwin.
Aging is a universal experience, and none of us does it alone. We all need strong systems and supports to stay healthy and secure.”
In 2025, NCOA is celebrating its 75th year of service to older adults. The NonProfit Times noted that Alwin has led the charge in defining longevity as “a megatrend we can no longer ignore, and that policies, programs, products, and mindsets must evolve.”
Alwin previously held the role of Vice President of Economic Security at NCOA before leading thought leadership efforts in financial resilience and longevity at AARP. Since returning to NCOA as President and CEO in 2020, Alwin has made it the organization’s goal to improve the lives of 40 million older adults by 2030, through initiatives that empower older adults, strengthen communities, and advocate for change.
