Lisa Stephens is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Humana's Insurance Segment, one of the nation's leading health and well-being organizations. She leads enterprise operations, clinical excellence, and transformation initiatives across Medicare, Medicaid, and Specialty businesses serving millions of members nationwide. Her responsibilities include oversight of enrollment, claims, appeals and grievances, risk adjustment, Stars and quality programs, utilization management, care management, clinical innovation, and business technology modernization.

With nearly 30 years of experience improving health care quality, affordability, and outcomes, Lisa is recognized for driving operational excellence, innovation, and measurable results through strategic transformation and cross-functional collaboration. Throughout her career, she has led large-scale initiatives focused on quality improvement, population health, regulatory compliance, health care operations, and technology-enabled solutions that improve affordability, quality, and outcomes for the individuals and communities served.

At Humana, Lisa has held a variety of executive leadership roles with increasing levels of responsibility across operations, clinical strategy, process improvement, risk management, and enterprise transformation. She is known for her ability to translate complex challenges into practical solutions that deliver measurable business results while advancing quality of care and enhancing the health care experience.

Lisa's commitment to healthy aging and community impact extends beyond her professional responsibilities. She is a graduate of the Louisville Leadership Bingham Fellows program and serves in leadership roles within her faith community. Her passion for helping individuals live healthier lives aligns closely with the National Council on Aging's mission to improve the health and economic security of older adults.

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an Executive MBA through the University of Kentucky and University of Louisville joint Executive MBA program. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Six Sigma Black Belt, and completed executive studies in Artificial Intelligence and Business Strategy at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
