Alison Esquea

Alison Esquea is Vice President, Federal Affairs for Cambia Health Solutions, a not-for-profit health care company that includes seven regional health plans dedicated to making the health care experience easier and lives better.
Alison provides leadership and strategic direction for Cambia’s legislative and regulatory policy agenda and spearheads federal outreach on issues ranging from health insurance, innovation, and patient-centered care. She serves as a liaison to government officials, trade associations, and other key organizations to advance sound policies that meaningfully improve health care.
Alison served three U.S. Senators on Capitol Hill: William “Mo” Cowan, John F. Kerry, and Bob Graham. She worked on legislation pertaining to health care (including passage of the Affordable Care Act), Social Security, deficit reduction, budget, appropriations, and tax policy. She also served as a Senior Analyst at the U.S. Government Accountability Office and began her career as a Presidential Management Fellow at the U.S. Social Security Administration.
Alison earned a bachelor’s degree in government from Shippensburg University and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Pittsburgh, Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA). She previously taught as an adjunct professor at GSPIA and currently serves on the school’s Board of Visitors. She serves on the Policy Committee of Generations United, a national nonprofit organization focused on intergenerational collaboration.
