July 28, 2026, Arlington, VA—For the third consecutive year, Ramsey Alwin, President and CEO of the National Council on Aging (NCOA), has been selected by The NonProfit Times to its 2026 Power and Influence Top 50. The publication highlighted that Alwin champions the idea of longevity as a megatrend that requires modern policy and societal shifts.

“All of us deserve to age with dignity,” said Alwin. “We’re living longer, but not all of us have the resources we need to age with health and economic well-being.

With 10,000 Americans turning 65 every day, we must modernize our systems and combat ageism, so each of us can benefit from the gift of longevity.”

Alwin is an internationally recognized expert in aging and a leading advocate for systems-level change to create the conditions for all to age well today and into the future. In addition to leading the 76-year-old NCOA, she is a member of Leadership 18’s executive committee, and she serves on the World Economic Forum’s Longevity Economy Steering Committee, where she contributed to the recent report, The Longevity Dividend: The Business Case for Linking Health and Wealth, and is a member of the Generations United Board of Directors.

Alwin is a sought-after thought leader who regularly raises awareness of critical issues affecting older adults, such as scams on NBC NewsNew York Times, and USA Today

Alwin previously held the role of Vice President of Economic Security at NCOA before leading thought leadership efforts in financial resilience and longevity at AARP. Since returning to NCOA as President and CEO in 2020, Alwin led the organization to achieve its goal of improving the lives of 40 million older adults five years early. She has set a bold new goal for the organization: Create the conditions for 100 million healthier, happier birthdays by 2040.
