The model with the most features, the TEMPUR-Ergo ProSmart Base, was one of our top picks in our review of the best adjustable bed frames.

Additional information

The smart base models have Sleeptracker-AI sensors that monitor your sleep. The sensors track metrics such as the time you typically go to bed and how much sleep you usually get and relay them to the app. The app can then alert you when it monitors a deviation from your routine and provide you with actionable recommendations for improving your sleep. If you want to use this technology, you will need to install the app from the App Store or Google Play onto a mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet. Most app store reviews are positive, while others mention that the app crashes frequently and is difficult to set up.

You can control your adjustable bed from your smartphone using the Sleeptracker-AI app.

You can also use the app to activate the Snore Response feature. If enabled, the bed’s sensors will detect vibrations originating from your respiratory system while you sleep. Depending on the preferences you set in the app, the base will automatically adjust to an anti-snore position, vibrate to wake you, or both.

The smart adjustable bases can also connect with your smart home devices so you can control your base using voice commands or other paired devices.

Tempur-Pedic cost

The cost of Tempur-Pedic adjustable bases starts at $899 for a twin or twin long Ease Power Base. The brand also makes split adjustable bases for king and California king sizes. Split models allow you to separately customize the adjustment settings of the right and left sides of the bed and start at $1,798.

Compatible mattresses and frames aren’t included with the adjustable bed bases, so you may have to include these costs in your adjustable bed budget. For example, someone looking to get a queen-size adjustable bed can expect to pay a total of $2,998 for an Ease Power Base and a TEMPUR-Cloud mattress, excluding any promotions or discounts.

At the time of writing, Tempur-Pedic offered a $300 discount to customers who bought a qualifying Tempur-Pedic mattress along with an Ergo Power Base, Smart Base, or ProSmart Base.

All Tempur-Pedic mattresses are compatible with its adjustable bases, but they may cost more than your average mattress. For example, a queen-size mattress from the retailer ranges from $1,999–$5,599. Most models are priced above $2,322, which is the average cost of a queen-size mattress according to our Review’s Team’s research on 155 mattress models.

Tempur-Pedic doesn’t sell bed frames for its adjustable bases and mattresses, but the retailer confirms that its adjustable bases fit within most modern bed frames.

Tempur-Pedic payment options

Tempur-Pedic accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit cards. It has a financing option called Tempur-Pedic Financing, which you have to apply for.

Tempur-Pedic delivery

After placing your order, Tempur-Pedic will reach out to schedule delivery, typically within seven to 10 business days. All Tempur-Pedic adjustable bed bases include free white glove delivery, which means someone will deliver and set up the adjustable base in your bedroom. They will also remove all packing materials and your old mattress and box spring, if requested, at no extra cost.

For customers in remote locations, Alaska, and Hawaii, there is a $600 surcharge for delivery, which takes four to six weeks.

Tempur-Pedic doesn’t deliver adjustable bed bases to Army Post Offices, Fleet Post Offices, or U.S. Territory addresses.

Tempur-Pedic warranty and returns

Tempur-Pedic advertises a 25-year warranty for its adjustable beds, but we read the warranty policies closely and found that it only covers the adjustable bed frame. The frame consists of the metal structure of the base, but not the other parts, such as the cover, electrical components, and mechanical components.

There is a parts warranty that is split into two periods: a three-year full parts and labor warranty and a two-year full parts warranty. During the first three years of the warranty, the company will ship and either repair or replace defective parts without charging an additional fee. The parts and labor warranty covers the following:

  • Authorized factory-supplied electronics
  • Electrical components
  • Drive motors
  • Power supply components

After the first three years, the bases are covered for two more years under a parts warranty only. This means that service, transportation, labor, and shipping costs are not included with any parts repair or replacement when submitting a warranty claim in year four or five.

The full terms of the warranties can be found on the following pages:

Tempur-Pedic doesn’t accept returns for its adjustable bed bases.

Tempur-Pedic vs. Sleep Number

Tempur-Pedic and Sleep Number both offer adjustable bed mattresses and bases. Both companies’ mattresses are made of foam, but Sleep Number mattresses have air chambers to customize the firmness of the mattress, also known as the sleeper’s “sleep number.”

Sleep Number bases don’t have lumbar support, massage options, or the relaxation features found in Tempur-Pedic adjustable bases. Unlike Tempur-Pedic, Sleep Number bases have foot-warming features and a FlexTop option where only the head of the bed is split and can be separately adjusted.

The starting cost for an adjustable bed base is less expensive from Tempur-Pedic than from Sleep Number. Tempur-Pedic includes free shipping and white glove service for its adjustable base delivery. Sleep Number adjustable bases ship for $249. Neither company accepts returns for their adjustable bases.
