The Nolah Original All Foam is a 10-inch high mattress with three foam layers. The foam layers are wrapped in the brand’s proprietary Tencel cover designed to promote better airflow to help keep sleepers cool. The top layer of the mattress is 2 inches high and is made from a zoned air foam designed to provide cushioning and flexibility around the shoulder area, as well as more support in the middle for the lower back and hips. The second layer is made from an inch of core comfort support foam that offers some bounce, and the final foundational layer is 7 inches high and is designed to lend support and stability to the mattress.

Our testers found the mattress easy to move around on, which makes it great for combination sleepers. They also said little to no motion was detected when others moved around, which makes it an appealing option for couples. Our tester also scored this mattress high for pressure relief, which means it could be a good choice for those experiencing pain.

Despite the cooling technology the mattress promotes, our testers didn’t rate it highly for its cooling capabilities and said they felt the mattress warming up the longer they laid on it, especially in the back area. They also found the edge support lacking. Even though the brand is committed to designing mattresses for side sleepers, our testers found it performed poorly for both light and average-weight side sleepers, which counters initial expectations. However, our testers did like the mattress for lighter-weight, average-weight, and heavy-weight stomach sleepers, as well as for lighter-weight and average-weight back and combination sleepers.

The Nolah Original All Foam model is the brand’s flagship model and is also its most affordable. It has a medium-firm feel and offers an “on top” feeling for sleepers, which means it provides a high level of support with little sinkage.

The Nolah Evolution Luxury Firm is a 15-inch high medium-firm hybrid mattress featuring one inch of EverAdapt Transition Foam, two inches of CoreComfort Support Foam, and then a layer of Zoned AirFoam atop a layer of individually wrapped coils. The mattress has a Euro topper crafted with organic cotton and the brand’s proprietary ArticTex cooling technology to keep sleepers from overheating. Like the other Nolah mattresses, the Evolution Luxury Firm is not made with memory foam but with the brand’s AirFoam technology, designed to be lighter, more breathable, and better to disperse heat than traditional memory foam.

This mattress also features what the brand calls an “AirBreath Heat Escape Gusset,” a 4-inch-high border around the top layer that assists in releasing body heat throughout the night. Like the Nolah Original mattress, it also features a zoned AirFoam layer to provide different levels of support in the lower back, hip, and shoulder areas. After the AirFoam layer, you’ll find the CoreComfort support layer (also in the Nolah Original), followed by a layer of transition foam that adds bounce. The individually wrapped coils offer additional internal support, and there are reinforced coils around the mattress’s perimeter for enhanced edge support. Finally, the mattress’s foundation layer is designed to lend the mattress stability and durability.

The first thing our testers noticed was the luxurious feel of the mattress’s cover, commenting that it was soft to the touch with a lot of detail in the quilting. When they rested on it, they felt some sinkage in the top layer but felt supported as they sank into the second layer, thanks to the hybrid design. The mattress scored well for back, stomach, and side sleepers, as testers felt well-supported in all those positions. Despite the slight sinkage in the top layer, they reported ease of movement, making it great for those who shift positions at night.

These touches are reflected in the mattress’s price, which is $2,499 for a queen. It’s a medium-firm hybrid that offers great pressure relief and solid overall support.

The Nolah Signature is an all-foam 12-inch high mattress featuring four layers of foam. While the Nolah website rates it as a medium mattress, our tester found it to be on the firmer side. The first layer of foam is 2 inches high and is made with the company’s zoned AirFoam technology seen in its other mattresses. Again, the zoned AirFoam here features different firmness levels across the top of the mattress designed to relieve pressure in the hip and shoulder areas. The zoned AirFoam layer is followed by 2 inches of active response foam, which gives the mattress some bounce and lends to improved mobility. The next layer is made with the company’s pressure-relieving AirFoam, designed to help relieve joint pain. Finally, the base is made from high-density poly foam, which lends additional support and structure to the mattress.

One of the best features of the Nolah Signature is its pressure-relieving capabilities. When our tester laid down on the mattress and used our mapping system to evaluate pressure points, we saw very little pressure buildup across the board. This means the Nolah Signature would be a great pick for those who experience pain.

We also tested motion transfer by dropping a 10-pound weighted ball onto the mattress and by having another tester move around while one rested. We detected very little transfer across the mattress, which makes it a good choice for co-sleepers.

The Nolah Signature is marketed as the brand’s best mattress for pressure relief and features more of the company’s signature AirFoam than the Original model. It’s the brand’s second most affordable mattress, costing $1,799 for a queen, and offers a cooling, organic cotton cover not seen in the original model.

The Nolah Natural is an 11-inch high all-natural hybrid mattress made with Talalay latex and individually wrapped coils. It’s hypoallergenic, making it great for allergy sufferers, and it features an organic cotton cover. Under the cotton cover are five layers of a combination of latex, wool, and coils, starting with the top “comfort” layer made from 2 inches of Talalay latex. The comfort layer is followed by another layer of Talalay latex that provides more support, which helps transition the mattress to its next layer of 8 inches of innerspring coils. Finally, the foundational layer is made with organic wool and cotton and serves to stabilize the previous five layers.

Our testers rated it 5/5 for its pressure-relieving capabilities. The Talalay latex ⓘ Light and airy natural rubber material with excellent cushioning and temperature regulation properties. in particular is said to help relieve pressure, as it’s more supportive than other types of latex such as synthetic or Dunlop. The additional support provided by the coils adds to the overall pressure relief making it a great option for those dealing with pain.

Unfortunately, the mattress didn’t score as high in the motion transfer category. Because it’s a hybrid, the coils and latex give the mattress a lot of bounce, meaning motion can easily be detected across the top.

On the other hand, the Talalay latex does provide great cooling, landing it a score of 4.5/5 in this category. The organic cotton cover, the temperature-regulating wool, and the coils all assist in the mattress’s breathability, making it a good choice for those who tend to overheat.

The Nolah Natural is an environmentally friendly, all-natural hybrid mattress designed with the eco-conscious shopper in mind. It’s got a medium-firm feel, and sleepers will likely feel like they’re sleeping on top of this mattress because of the support offered by the base layer.
