Improve the Lives of Older Adults

Thanks to support from passionate people like you, we have improved the lives of nearly 31 million older adults, reaching 2.9 million Americans last year alone. Yet, we know there is more work to be done as 9 million older adults are missing out on the benefits for which they are eligible – and this number is likely to grow. Will you help us change more lives in 2025?

Change Lives Today

Millions of older adults need our help. One person determined to help others can make a difference.

You can help build a better future for older adults

At age 74 Flora, a retired Chicagoan, lives on her monthly Social Security check which averages nationally at $1,670 per month.

With skyrocketing food prices, her Social Security check doesn’t stretch as far as it used to. Although she needed to follow a healthy diet to help manage her diabetes, Flora was finding it more and more difficult to buy nutritious food after paying her rent and other bills.

When you’re on a fixed income, sometimes you have the chance to buy the food you want and sometimes you don’t,” Flora explained.

NCOA’s benefit counselors helped Flora enroll in federal food assistance or SNAP benefits. Now, when she goes to the store, she can buy fruits, vegetables, and other healthy necessities. For Flora, the switch has been a huge relief – making it much easier to eat nutritious meals and balance her budget.

For every $1 raised, 93¢ goes directly into NCOA programs.
