Osteoporosis and bone fractures are risk factors for falls among older adults. Nearly 30% of women and 16% of men 50+ have osteoporosis or low bone mass, and osteoporosis causes over 2 million fractures per year in the United States. Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) care coordination programs provide older adults who have suffered from a fracture with bone evaluations, diagnosis and personalized plans to improve and maintain bone health to prevent falls and broken bones. Join this webinar from the National Bone Health Alliance to learn how to connect older adults with FLS programs in hospitals across the nation. This webinar will also educate those within the aging network and other relevant stakeholders about the prevalence of osteoporosis and bone fractures among older adults, and examples of FLS community partnerships in Florida.
