Currently, people with Alzheimer’s and other cognitive impairments and their caregivers access a wide range of health and social supports, including Chronic Disease Self -Management Programs (CDSMP), falls prevention, and other evidence-based programs. This webinar will share the findings of a study of CDSMP trainers about their experiences with these persons in their courses and actions taken in response to study recommendations. Webinar participants will learn about CDSMP tools and tips from trainers that facilitate course completion by persons affected by cognitive impairment and care partners. Many tools and tips that work for CDSMP trainers could potentially be adapted to falls prevention programs. Presenters include Nina Silverstein of the University of Massachusetts Boston, co-author of the study, and Michael Splaine, a consultant to the Alzheimer’s Association Healthy Brain Initiative.
