About 30% of older people who fall lose their self-confidence and start to go out less often. Inactivity leads to social isolation and loss of balance and muscle strength, increasing the risk of falling. Stepping On aims to break that cycle, engaging older adults in a range of multi-factorial relevant falls prevention strategies, including balance and strength exercises, home modifications, medication review, vision checks, community mobility, and other key topics. Participants benefit from learning from each other, incorporating the preventative framework, exercises and other workshop-acquired strategies into daily life. Session will also cover the program’s licensing and fee structure.
