Medicare Part C & D Changes in 2019

Numerous changes are occurring with Medicare Part C & D in 2019, as a result of the Balanced Budget Act of 2018, the Part C & D final rule, and the Final Call Letter for 2019 from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). These changes include increased Medicare Advantage flexibility, closing the Part D coverage gap (donut hole), and more.

This primer developed for us by the Medicare Rights Center explains what’s changing, and provides examples for counselors to understand how they may affect their clients.
