In 2011, NCOA co-chaired the Leadership Council of Aging Organizations (LCAO) Community Services Committee that led the effort to develop consensus recommendations for the reauthorization of the Older Americans Act (OAA).
Review the LCAO recommendations
NCOA’s six priority areas for Older Americans Act reauthorization were significantly reflected in the LCOA Consensus Document.
The LCAO continues to advocate for a timely, bipartisan reauthorization:
- Chair’s Letter urging action before expiration of the 113th Congress
- Joint letter to the House and Senate signed by 55 LCAO members in support of reauthorization
The Community Services Committee also produced a fact sheet to provide background and clarifying points for the funding formula deliberations taking place during the Senate’s reauthorization process.
