Programs of Excellence Award Winners – Part 2

Health and Wellness Award Winner, Lake Oswego Adult Community Center in Oregon, the Living Well Talk Series. Community Engagement Coordinator Nicolette Hume.

The Living Well Talk Series strives to present fresh, innovative and enlightening topics to enrich the lives of today’s older adult. The program takes place one evening each month. Some of the topics include: Finding Love Online (Online Dating Tips for Rookies), Marijuana as Medicine (Is It Right For Me), Creating Body Trust (Intuitive Eating & Embracing Health at Every Size), and more.

Special Events Award winner, Friendship Centers in Sarasota, Florida, My Journey.  Senior Director of Programs Terry McGannon.

My Journey captures stories of our elders for perpetuity. It was inspired by the NPR program StoryCorps. When the interview is completed the recording is shared with the older adult and/or their children.
