Falls Prevention Awareness Day 2017 Impact Report

The 10th annual Falls Prevention Awareness Day (FPAD) on September 22, 2017 celebrated a decade of empowering seniors with the confidence to protect themselves from fall-related injuries. National 2017 FPAD awareness and media efforts reached an estimated 87 million individuals. At the state and community level, the State Falls Prevention Coalitions members reached 1.1 million individuals through education, awareness, and advocacy efforts, as well as fall-risk screenings and fall prevention programs. The NCOA Falls Free® Initiative hopes this compendium of national and state FPAD efforts will serve as a resource to maximize FPAD 2018 impact and beyond.

Falls Prevention Awareness Day 2016: A Compendium of State and National Activities

The 9th annual FPAD was observed on September 22, 2016. National FPAD awareness and media efforts reached an estimated 101 million individuals. At the state and community level, the State Falls Prevention Coalitions members reached nearly 1.5 million individuals through education, awareness, and advocacy efforts, as well as fall-risk screenings and fall prevention programs. The NCOA Falls Free® Initiative hopes this compendium of national and state FPAD efforts will serve as a resource to maximize FPAD 2017 impact and beyond.

Falls Prevention Awareness Day 2015: A Compendium of State and National Activities

The 8th annual Falls Prevention Awareness Day (FPAD) was observed on September 23, 2015. The Falls Free® Initiative State Coalitions on Falls Prevention Workgroup members reached nearly 2 million individuals through education, awareness, and advocacy efforts, as well as fall prevention programs and fall-risk screenings. NCOA’s FPAD national awareness and education media efforts reached an estimated 97 million individuals. We compiled the results of national and state activities.

On Sept. 23, 2014, 48 states and D.C. celebrated Falls Prevention Awareness Day (FPAD) by engaging in a variety of exciting awareness, screening, education, and advocacy activities, as well as referrals to community-based falls prevention programs.
