Today, there are more than 11,000 senior centers across the country serving more than 10 million older adults annually. Research by the National Council on Aging (NCOA) indicates older adults who participate in senior center programs delay the onset of chronic disease and enjoy measurable improvements in physical, social, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being, and overall life satisfaction.
However, amidst the coronavirus pandemic, senior centers have had to get creative to engage high-risk older adults in senior center programs and services. Additionally, senior center professionals continue to provide programming while juggling social distancing practices, closures, and advocating their services be deemed essential to continue serving the older adults in their communities.
Join our Connections webinar as we talk about the challenges facing senior centers amidst the pandemic and guide you through the NISC Best Practices Toolkit on opening your very own Digital Senior Center.
