In 2014, NCOA held a special ceremony to present Achievement Awards and recognize those advancing seniors’ health and economic security. Our awardees share a commitment to NCOA’s mission to improve the lives of millions of older adults, especially those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged. Recipients included:

Anne Whitaker

President, North America Pharmaceuticals, Sanofi

Anne Whitaker joined Sanofi, a global and diversified healthcare leader focused on patients’ needs, in September 2011 as the President of North America Pharmaceuticals. She oversees all operations within the region including Business Development, Commercial Strategy and Planning, Chattem (Consumer Healthcare), Canada Pharmaceuticals, Go To Market, Managed Care, Meeting Planning, NA Medical Affairs and Patient Centered Units (PCU).

Ms. Whitaker serves as a member of the Global Leadership Team and the U.S. Regional Strategic Management Committee. A distinguished and dedicated professional with more than 20 years of experience, she is also on the boards of Cree, the National Pharmaceutical Council, the National Association of Manufacturers, the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics Foundation and the CEO Roundtable on Cancer.

Aetna

As one of the nation’s leading diversified health care benefits companies, Aetna is committed to building a healthier world by working alongside community leaders, health organizations and providers. Its long tradition of giving and community involvement includes support to many nonprofit organizations focused on the health and well being of seniors and women.

Accepting the award was Terry A. Swanson, Aetna’s vice president of Medicare Part D, who leads a team that provides prescription drug benefits to over 2.1 million Medicare beneficiaries across the United States. She joined Aetna in 2010 and directs a program committed to improving the health of seniors by providing quality and affordable benefits and increased access to health care.
