Meeting the Challenges of the 21st Century
The Lexington Senior Citizens Center has released its Meeting the Challenges of the 21st Century report.
This research project seeks to develop foundations--both practical and conceptual--needed to plan future programming and services.
The report begins by addressing senior centers in general, from their beginnings and growth as a national phenomenon to evolving definitions of a senior center and its mission. It also includes a brief survey of theories that have been used to explain various elements of senior centers, from their locations to their users' characteristics.
The second part of the report focuses on the Lexington Senior Citizens Center.
