Virtual Advocacy Day

U.S. Senators voice support for OAA

Six U.S. Senators appeared at our Capitol Hill Advocacy Day in Washington, DC on March 28, including Sen. Sanders (I-VT) below. Read his release featuring statements by 14 U.S. Senators and watch his remarks.

We asked Congress:

1. Protect and invest in funding for aging programs and services

2. Support Older Americans Act reauthorization

3. Protect and strengthen health care

Thank you!

Thanks to you, Advocacy Day was a huge success!

You showed up in force:

  • Nearly 300 individuals participated in our Advocacy Day briefing on Capitol Hill on March 28.
  • Virtual advocates sent almost 1,700 emails to Congress, with over 1,500 in one day.

We’ve already seen success:

  • 17 Senators signed onto Sen. Sanders’ letter requesting a 12% increase in Older Americans Act (OAA) funding.
  • 14 Senators (5 in person at our Advocacy Day briefing) joined Sen. Sanders in calling for OAA reauthorization.

Keep the momentum going!
