Sharon Gleason


Sharon Gleason is responsible for helping NCOA achieve its goals by enlisting the support of corporate, foundation, and individual partners and donors. 

Gleason has 18 years of experience managing and leading nonprofits. She has helped raise more than $30 million for local, national, and international nonprofits, including American Red Cross National Headquarters; The Girl Scout Council, Nation’s Capital; Girl Scouts, USA; The Federation of American Scientists, City of Hope National Medical Center; and the National Association of Manufacturers.

Gleason serves on both the Association of Professional Fundraisers’ Government Affairs Committee and the Certified Fund Raiser Executives International board of directors, helping lead strategic planning, marketing, job analysis, audit, and exam committees.

As one of 100 peer-reviewed ACFREs worldwide, she holds the highest credential awarded in the profession, signifying mastery of nonprofit professional standards in leadership, management, and ethics.

Gleason holds a BA degree in Political Science from the Johns Hopkins University, an MS in Economics, London School of Economics; a Master’s Psychology, Harvard University; and has completed the Executive Leadership Program at Stanford University Business School.
