Albert Terrillion

Biography

Albert Terrillion is a health professional with over 20 years of experience at the local, state, and national level. 

He currently leads NCOA efforts to develop, strengthen, promote, and sustain partnerships between aging network health professionals, health care providers, and community-based organizations to support self-management and older adult health and wellness. He is also currently serving as a liaison to the federal Community Preventive Services Task Force.

Throughout his career, Dr. Terrillion has worked with both health systems and community groups to create and identify successful integration models and the use of evidence-based practices. He has led the development of multi-sector collaborations toward sustainability and growth of successful integration models.

He also has led the support of primary care, health equity, and the integration of evidence-based programs and policies in state and local public health agency efforts. This work included being the operational lead for several national high-profile public health initiatives to improve population health.  

His background includes work in translational research and community and health improvement efforts in rural Louisiana. Additionally, he has served on the boards of several local non-profits and has served as contributing faculty at both Tulane University and Loyola University New Orleans.

As a native of New Orleans, Dr. Terrillion led several neighborhood and community initiatives to support the city's ongoing recovery from Hurricane Katrina. 

He holds Doctor of Public Health and Master of Public Health degrees from Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and a Master of Education in adult education from Northwestern.
