Celebrate the 45th Anniversary of Medicare

1965 was a big year for older American’s programs. In addition to the Older Americans Act (OAA), 1965 saw the enactment of Medicare and Medicaid on July 30.
The OAA funds an array of home and community-based services that enable older adults to remain healthy and independent at home—thereby reducing Medicare and Medicaid costs.
How can we use next year’s OAA reauthorization to strengthen healthy aging programs—and prove their value?
