NISC is partnering with the U.S. Bone and Joint Initiative (USBJI) to offer NISC member senior centers two free public education programs:

  • Experts in Arthritis provides information about the management and treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile arthritis.

  • Fit to a T provides information about bone health, as well as the prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of osteoporosis.

USBJI will provide guidelines to any NISC member on how to organize a session. In addition, USBJI will:

  • Make arrangements for the presenter
  • Supply the PowerPoint presentation and program materials
  • Supply artwork for flyers and posters
  • Provide handout materials for participants
  • Supply evaluation forms

There is no cost. USBJI's program coordinator is dedicated to working with the organizers and presenters to make arrangements for each session. More than 500 sessions have been held nationwide to date.

A program session is typically structured to last 60 minutes, including the presentation and a question/answer period.

To arrange a 2014 session, or for more information, please email usbji@usbji.org, visit www.usbji.org, or call 847-430-5054.
