How to Get Osteoarthritis Pain Under Control

Did you know that osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common of the nearly 100 types of arthritis?

It affects more than 27 million people in the United States and is more common than diabetes.

Because osteoarthritis is most often found in people aged 50+, many believe it's a normal part of aging. But it isn’t. It's a disease.

NCOA has teamed with the Arthritis Foundation to develop a toolkit to help professionals educate older adults about OA and how they can put pain in its place. The toolkit includes:

The workshop is designed to help seniors by:

  • Arming them with knowledge they need to manage osteoarthritis pain.
  • Preparing them with strategies they can use to prevent and relieve pain.
  • Inspiring them to take action to get pain under control and to build their life around wellness, not illness.

To order the complete toolkit, please contact christine.harding@ncoa.org.
