Thinking about creating a new business venture? Ask yourself the following questions first:

1. What existing services, products, core competencies, and assets could we tap to create earned income or a new business venture?

2. What new services or products could we offer to create earned income or a new business venture?

3. What new constituencies could we market to for existing or new products and services?

4. To achieve greater success, are there any services or products we should reduce, eliminate, or transfer somewhere else?

5. What are the core competencies we need to be successful? Organize them by “Have It” and “Need It.” 

6. What alliances or partnerships could we create to obtain needed core competencies that we don’t currently have?
