Power Plant Permitting Assistant - Boston

This position will provide knowledge of power plant engineering to evaluate facility-specific situations applicable to NPDES permitting. 

Duties:

  • Assist staff and manager in developing and presenting the technical and regulatory basis for permit provisions
  • Compile electronic and/or paper records for various permitting purposes, such as administrative records, responses to FOIA requests, and documentation of permit determination
  • Research specific information relative to power plant operations, expenses, or regulatory status

Required:

  • Age 55 or older
  • BA/BS degree in Engineering and 3 years related experience
  • Technical understanding and experience in power plant engineering principles and operations
  • Familiarity with all aspects of wastewater discharge(s) from traditional and nuclear steam electric generation stations
  • Knowledge of treatment technologies widely used in the industry to treat water and wastewater at power plants
  • Ability to perform mass balance, energy balance, and other mathematical calculations relative to power plant operations
  • Proficient technical writing skills
  • Knowledge of power plant economics a plus
  • Knowledge of environmental or other federal regulations a plus

Hours & Pay:

  • Full time - 40 hours per week
  • $12.72 per hour
