Promising Practices

The National Center for Benefits Outreach & Enrollment has compiled this clearinghouse of promising practices to share innovative approaches that have worked in improving benefits outreach and enrollment. Promising practices are collected for the following categories:

  • Finding people—i.e., identification of who is eligible to receive benefits but currently not enrolled.
  • Outreach & education—reaching out to the population and educating them about their potential qualification for benefits.
  • Application assistance—strategies to help seniors and adults with disabilities to efficiently and effectively apply for benefits.
  • Retention of benefits—ways to help those who are enrolled keep their benefits with any gaps in coverage.

We encourage you to help us build this clearinghouse and share your good work with others so that tactics that are effective in one community can be adopted in other areas. If you have a promising practice to share, please email Brandy Bauer at brandy.bauer@ncoa.org.
