Six Organizations Win Innovations Grants

NCOA is pleased to award grants to six local/state organizations to implement significant innovations that assist economically vulnerable older Americans and younger adults with disabilities with enrolling in public benefits.

Awarded through the National Center for Benefits Outreach and Enrollment, the grants will enable the organizations to develop creative ways of providing person-centered, community-based assistance to help eligible individuals enroll in benefits that pay for medicine, food, utilities, and more. The grants support work in several categories of innovation, including scaling up activities in other geographic areas, improving troubleshooting and follow-up of benefits applications, increasing outreach and enrollment of isolated populations, and using the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) as a gateway to other benefits.
