Part D LIS Tips on Completing the Application

The Extra Help program, also called the low-income subsidy, or LIS, can be very valuable for your clients. According to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the average benefit to a person with Medicare getting LIS/Extra Help is $4,000 per year.

This guide may come in handy as you assist clients in applying for help with paying for their Part D costs, including their monthly premiums, annual deductible, and on-going prescription drug copay or coinsurance amounts.
