NCOA’s BenefitsCheckUp® has a new look—and it’s now easier than ever for you or an older to find benefits to help pay for food, medicine, utilities, and more.

If you’ve never visited BenefitsCheckUp®, now is a great time!

By answering some questions, you can learn if you or an older adult you know meet the guidelines to receive benefits that can make a huge difference in paying for everyday expenses. On average, a BenefitsCheckUp® screening identifies $6,200 in potential benefits for a senior in need.

Here are 5 things you can do right now:

  1. See if Medicare Extra Help can save you money on medications.
If you have Medicare and have limited income and resources, you may be able to get Extra Help paying for your prescription drug costs. BenefitsCheckUp® can help you find out and make it easy to apply for the program.

  2. Find food programs in your state.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps low-income individuals and families buy the food they need for good health. Although SNAP is the national name, your state may use a different name. You can use the BenefitsCheckUp® SNAP map to learn more about the program and find application forms to apply.

  3. Get the steps to apply.
Finding a benefit is one thing. But how do you apply? When you complete a BenefitsCheckUp®, you’ll receive a report created just for you that describes the programs that may help you. You can even apply for many of the programs online or print an application form directly from BenefitsCheckUp®.

  4. Get updates about benefits.
Stay connected with BenefitsCheckUp® by signing up to get updates on important changes in benefits. It’s free!

  5. Share your story.
After you use BenefitsCheckUp®, tell us about your experience and how the tool has helped you, a family member, or a friend save money.
