Multiple Generations

You can learn from these exceptional locally developed program models and volunteer engagement strategies. You can strengthen your service delivery by adapting these programs:

The local organizations profiled are part of NCOA’s Multi-Generational Civic Engagement (MGCE) Initiative. They were competitively selected as having exceptional locally developed program models with a significant volunteer engagement strategy.   In addition to up to three years of funding at $30,000 per year the local organizations will receive additional resources, support and technical assistance to provide help with making their model replicable in other communities.

The U.S. Administration on Aging (AoA) awarded a multi-year grant to NCOA to establish the MGCE Initiative.  This emerging Public-Private “partnership” between AoA, the Corporation for National and Community Service VISTA and NCOA also includes the Atlantic Philanthropies and MetLife Foundation as funding partners; and Easter Seals, Generations United, National Association of Regional Agencies on Aging, National Assembly on Human Service, and Temple University Center on Intergenerational Living as national program collaborators.

NCOA's precursor to this project, Family Friends, paired older adults and at-risk families.
