Webinar Examines the Economic Downturn's Impact on Family Caregivers

The October NCOA/IlluminAge Healthy Aging Briefing Series webinar covered the difficulties faced by family caregivers during the tough economic climate.  Our presenter was Gail Hunt, President and CEO of The National Alliance for Caregiving.

For over a decade, The National Alliance for Caregiving has had as part of its core mission research on caregiving and family caregivers: who's providing care; what challenges do they face; what trends are emerging that the wider aging services and caregiver support network needs to be aware of.

In this especially timely presentation Gail Hunt reporedt on the new  Evercare Study: Economic Downturn and Its Impact on Family Caregiving.

If your organization serves family caregivers, this is a unique opportunity to learn  what the survey data indicate and what today's economic realities mean for community-based caregiver support programs.

The NCOA/IlluminAge Healthy Aging Briefings feature topics presented by national experts that keep NCOA members from “reinventing the wheel” in their own senior health promotion and community education programming.

These webinars combine a teleconference with an interactive Web presentation. To participate, you will need to dial in using your telephone and log in using an Internet-ready computer.

Mark Your Calendar For November's HABS Webinar: Looking ahead to next month, on November 19, 1:30 Eastern Time, our presenter will be Cynthia R. Green, Ph.D, President of Memory Arts, LLC. Dr. Green's subject will be community programs and best practices in promoting brain health.

Join NCOA's online Crossroads community. There, you can  talk with our webinar hosts and your colleagues online. You can ask questions, share ideas, and brainstorm new approaches and partnerships. We'll be holding more Webinars and online talks throughout the year; please join us for them.
