Number of Unemployed Adults Age 65 and Older Reaches Record High
March 23, 2009

The number of seniors unemployed and looking for work has doubled since November 2007, according to a recent report by The Urban Institute.  Hardest hit are African Americans, Hispanics, and those without high school educations.  Senior workers in construction, manufacturing, and leisure and hospitality industries also face high unemployment.
